Attendance

At Trentham Academy we have a compulsory attendance policy which the whole school must adhere to.

Parents and carers have a legal duty to ensure that their child receives a suitable full time education and it is vital you encourage your child’s regular and punctual attendance to school.

It is important that everyone works together to help your child obtain the best possible start in life with a good education. Working in partnership with us, notifying us on the reason for your child’s absence and highlighting any areas of concern they may have so we can address it promptly.

There is a pastoral team of support around our students including an Educational Welfare Officer that can work with you/your child to raise their attendance and reduce any unnecessary absences from school.

Attendance is celebrated at Trentham Academy with house competitions and rewards in place to encourage and promote its importance.

We are passionate about providing a safe, inclusive environment for our students offering a broad and balanced curriculum that excites them about learning. Excellent attendance is directly correlated with attainment and success and we want all our students to feel  a sense of achievement and pride.

Holiday Absence will be treated as unauthorised absence which will result in the academy notifying the Local Authority to issue a penalty notice fine for term time absence as directed by the DFE guidance. This is in accordance with City Learning Trust policy and LA guidance.

The Academy believes in developing the person as a whole so they can accomplish educational excellence."
