In year 9 students will engage with a number of projects in readiness for the GCSE programme. These projects will develop and assess key skills such as communication, team work, and entrepreneurial skills.

Beginning the GCSE Business programme, students will begin their study with Business in the Real World, Human Resources and introducing Finance. Students will end the year running their own micro-businesses, allowing them to experience Business in the Real World.

In years 10 and 11, students will continue their exploration of the GCSE Business programme through the study of Finance, exploring various financial documents; Business Operation, looking into the role of procurement and the concept of quality in terms of product and service; and Influences of Business. This unit of work looks at various influences within the world on business, analysing the impact of each area on businesses of the past, present and future.

Year 11 studies focuses on a final unit of marketing, taking into account the first unit of work looking at business in a real-world setting. Within this unit students will engage with market segmentation, the marketing mix, looking at the purpose, method and suitability of market research.
