In year 9 students will engage with a number of projects in readiness for the GCSE programme. These projects will develop and assess key skills such as communication, team work, and entrepreneurial skills.

Beginning the GCSE Business programme, students will study Business in the Real World, Human Resources and Influences of Business. They will conclude the year by running their own micro-businesses, providing practical experience of operating in a real-world business setting. Students will also explore how different influences affect businesses, analysing their impact on businesses past, present and future.

In Years 10 and 11, students will continue their GCSE Business studies through Finance, exploring a range of financial documents; Business Operations, examining procurement and the concept of quality in relation to products and services; and Marketing. Within this unit of work, students will explore market segmentation, the marketing mix, and the purpose, methods and suitability of market research..

Year 11 studies focuses on a final unit of marketing, taking into account the first unit of work looking at business in a real-world setting. Within this unit students will engage with market segmentation, the marketing mix, looking at the purpose, method and suitability of market research.
