I have worked in a number of highly successful schools across the Midlands, but Science is my joy. As Albert Einstein states, “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious,  it is the source of all true art”.

As an Advanced Skills Teacher I have always been passionate about this discipline. As a Senior Leader I have been fortunate to work in a number of very successful schools and have many years of teaching and leadership experience at both GCSE and A Level.

My educational philosophy is based around the belief that schools should be a true community, where everyone works for the common benefit. I believe that the richest learning experiences come through a mixture of challenges and cooperation of all.  Students are at the heart of everything we do and school should be an experience that is rewarding and full of exciting learning experiences. I am committed to ensuring everything we do at Trentham Academy reflects our core values, Respect, Optimism, Responsibility and Integrity. These values underpin our motto Aspire, Endeavour, Achieve which for us at Trentham Academy means dream big, work hard and persevere and be successful.

I have a passion for sport, especially rugby, squash and cricket and I believe that many of the lessons we learn in sport can be useful for us in life. For example, a rugby match for me is very much like learning. As Sir Clive Woodward says, “There is no fear in losing a game of rugby, but there is fear in failing to prepare properly for the game”.
