Paul Hewitt

Parent Governor

My name is Paul Hewitt and I live locally in Hanford. I have a son in Year 8 and a daughter just joining the Academy.

I have worked in education for nearly 20 years and am currently a Deputy Head in a large secondary school in the West-Midlands. I have extensive experience of school operational and financial management and am the trust wide lead for assessment across 18 schools. I completed my NPQH in 2020 and have extensive senior leadership experience in secondary education.

This is my first role as a governor, and I am eager to support the work going on in the Academy to provide the best education possible for every learner. I truly believe in the words of Martin Luther King Jr. – “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education”

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family as well as football, snooker and darts.
